EVELYN's story
EVELYN, more affectionately known as Squirrel, is an AMAZING KID-FRIENDLY TORTIE POINT HIMALAYAN. She is around 3 years old, spayed and has her claws. She is a smaller girl at around 6 pounds and has a dainty little face that is marbled in various shades of chocolate and creams! Her fur is silky soft, but will still mat if not kept combed and her eyes are bright and clear and do not weep. Squirrel started life somewhere in Michigan, where she and a large number of cats were surrendered to a shelter. The group was facing euthanization had SPCR not stepped up to the plate. Squirrel gained her nickname because she is such a happy, busy girl. She is also sweet as can be and very social. She has been known to flop and do summersaults in her foster moms lap! She has happy feet that dance in place, continuous purrs and loves to nudge her face onto her foster moms. She jumps straight up into the air playing with her assortment of toys. She has so much fun being in foster care and is just a joy to have around. Squirrel gets along fantastic with other non-dominant cats and a gentle dog that does not chase. She happily engages in gentle cat and mouse play with other docile cats or she will simply mind her own business. Squirrel follows her foster kids everywhere and will plop down in the middle of their activities. She also fetches toys and meows to let you know she caught a mouse and then waits for her praise! And to top it all off, she sleeps in between her people. Previously, it was thought that Squirrel had a chronic issue with sinus infections, but her SPCR vet thought it appropriate to sedate Squirrel and thoroughly examine her nasal passages and to her surprise and ours, a large POLYP the size of a quarter was found and removed from the back of her mouth, with slim chances of ever returning! Squirrel is cured of her issues and feels soooooo much better! This girl has been through so much in her short life, her foster mom is looking for an equally amazing family who spends time at home, to cherish all she has to offer. This awesome girl loves her people and deserves all that love right back. Older respectful children would be great companions! So would a gentle cat(s) or dog. She gets along with everyone.
